Candy EZ Glide Fret Button Pack: Install Tips

Quick answer

Install the Candy EZ Glide Fret Button Pack using a Phillips and Torx screwdriver. Precision-molded buttons give a seamless fit and a matte finish for smooth play.

Installation steps

1. Gather your tools: You need a Phillips head screwdriver and a Torx head screwdriver. Tools are not included, so have them ready before you start. Using the wrong screwdriver type can strip the screw heads and damage the fret neck.
2. Remove the existing fret buttons: Carefully unscrew the old buttons from the CRKD guitar controller fret neck. Work slowly to avoid stripping the screws. Keep the screws organized; you'll reuse them with the new buttons.
3. Align the Candy Edition buttons: Place each Candy EZ Glide button into its slot. The precision mold ensures a snug fit, so do not force them. If a button doesn't sit flush, check alignment before tightening—never force it.
4. Tighten screws evenly: Use the Phillips screwdriver to tighten each screw until the button is secure but not over-tightened. Over-tightening can crack the button or strip the threads. Stop turning as soon as the button feels firm; the matte finish should remain smooth.
